Basement beginnings

I started my ‘first’ career in the basement of an insurance company in Dublin. My next move was to London and then Singapore where I stayed for 13 years.
I worked on some amazing projects with fantastic people, but as the years went on, I often felt disengaged and even inauthentic with some of the work.

The middle-aged-man-in-lycra phase

Becoming a dad was a big wake-up call. I realised I had responsibilities beyond myself and started to take myself more seriously, beginning with my physical and mental health. I decided to become alcohol-free, which gave me a clearer mind for the road ahead.

I had been coasting for long enough, and wanted to live with ownership and intention.

Seeing things differently

In my search for answers so decided to return to study for an MSc in Information Systems Management. Mid-way through that, my curiosity about the human condition led me to enroll in an ontological coaching program.

After the first 4-day conference, I felt like I had struck gold.

It was a transformative experience that went far beyond traditional learning. It created a space for me to deeply look at who I was being, and the beliefs that were limiting me. All this helped change my approach to my career and life. With a new sense of direction, I finished my masters and felt more engaged at work. I found a new passion in personal development and ultimately realized my future lay there. I sought out novel experiences I would never have considered before. Acting, somatic practices, improv comedy, Qi Gong ... even a night of pole dancing!

These experiences transformed my view of myself and who I could become.

I've heard that pictures with animals are incredibly effective in marketing; so here I am in Mongolia, with Genghis Khan looking on in disgust.

Resiliency and Confidence

The personal growth I’ve had over the past years has given me the resiliency and confidence I needed to make bold changes in life. I’m no longer pole dancing (it was a one-off I promise!), but I am finding new ways to keep moving. My family and I have since started to build our future in Portugal. When I am not wrestling with my two young boys, you might find me paddleboarding off the beautiful Algarve coast or hiking in the mountains with my dog.
